San Diego: The Healthy Locavore Guide to Eating and Drinking in North Park

Eating and Drinking Guide: North Park

Art, fashion, music, restaurants, craft cocktails, specialty coffee and more in one of San Diego’s oldest neighborhoods

Mabel’s Gone Fishing

Originally a lemon grove, the neighborhood of North Park is one of San Diegoʻs first residential + commercial districts established in the early 1900s. These days North Park is known as a hipster neighborhood with turn-of-the-century Craftsman cottages and culturally diverse cafes, coffee shops, trendy restaurants, craft cocktail bars, microbreweries, boutiques, art galleries and a weekly farmers market held every Thursday from 3:00-7:30 p.m.

Find most of the excitement around 30th and University––the heart and commercial core of the neighborhood. I’ve compiled a list of my favorite spots to visit below. You can do all of them in one day, due to their proximity. This area is also known for street fairs and festivals.
